Local hero from my home town Plymouth has passed away. I’m no football expert but he was well respected, even if he never played for Argyle.

Legend. Was there that late May evening in Munich when he scored the winning goal in the European Cup Final. Also there when he ruptured his Achilles tendon, a fearful crack that could have ended his career. Thanks for the memories

Sad day. I was surprised that he was only 69. For a fit athlete I would have thought he would have lived longer. I suppose you never know if people may have hereditary conditions or retire and change to an unhealthy lifestyle.

He'll always be known for his £1,000,000 transfer fee which is a shame as he was one of the greatest players and a true gentleman.

And now we hear about the passing of Chris Bart-Williams, one of Francis's players at Sheffield Wednesday and also another ex-Forest player. A mere lad at 49 years old.
