I thought I had a few pictures of the Mersey Ferry in mid transit, but either they are not keyworded or I discarded them for some reason. This partial shot survived. BV9R0223.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Isle of Wight Ferry. According to Lightroom this is not burned out - it is just really, really white. Powershot G10 back in 2012 IMG_0012.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

From my Flickr
"I have just been looking at it's history and who travelled on her including The Queen and Prince Phillip when they visited Liverpool in 1977 and how she is named in one of Paul McCartney's songs. When working the Mersey she had a pub and chip shop onboard so you could have a pint and fish supper as you crossed the river. The usual sad boat story, retired as a ferry, converted to night club, failed as night club, towed half way around the coast, failed restoration to another floating venue (2002) , took on water and abandoned (2010). I have a few Woolwich Ferry shot which are so un exceptional they have remained un edited for the last year, I will see if I can find them this evening, had I realised they were un looked at I would have done something with the yesterday.

Posted these before but just looked and they're not visible so here they are again
This one operates across the Poole harbour entrance, drive on drive off just about any vehicle, 1930s Leyland busses had a long rear overhang which would drag on the ramp so they had the bottom of the overhang cut away at an angle. The ferry moved along two hefty chains pulling itself along them.
