My wife usually hates shots of her, but this one has been approved (this is the 'straight from the camera' JPG cropped to 16x9 to use as a PC desktop). This is a version I have saved as less than 1Mb, for upload here. Comments welcome.

I can see why you like it.
Could you crop a little lower in the frame to exclude the bright bits along the top right?

It captures the feel of walking through that kind of environment, on a summer's day.
If we're talking preferences in processing, I would create some recession into the background, but otherwise, I'd leave it as it is. Alternatively, I'd make it B&W, with (probably) a yellow filter.

I think it would make a good black and white with the right conversion. At the moment she's a little 'muddy' for my liking though.

The areas I'd expect to be bright are not as bright as I'd expect them to be, but that's a valid exposure choice. Nice composition and I like the framing in the scene.

I think the resizing, and then having to save at a less than maximum image quality to get below the 1Mb size limit, didn't help. The full size original looks better, and the quality of the unprocessed JPG was one of the reasons I uploaded the image for comments. A small over exposure would probably have bleached out the centre of the image, and a small under exposure would have removed much of the shadow detail. It possibly may be used for a large print in the future, if we can agree on what existing one must be removed to make room for it.

I have had a 60 x 40 cm print done by CEWE (the full image, not the 16x9 desktop uploaded here), and found some wall space to frame and hang it. However, I did lighten the corners a little before uploading it for printing, and the balance between the exposure and the shadow detail in the foreground is now better.

Good! Now I reckon we should be treated to a photo of it hanging in 'pride of place'.
