I've got quite a bit recovered from dismantled model railway boards and shelving as part of my downsizing prior to moving into sheltered accomodation; any suggestions for disposing of it, various sizes, some T&G cladding, and various lengths from a few inches to 4 'plus of 2"x1", 4"x2" etc and some chipboard and hardboard sheets etc. Local model railway group don't want it, seems a shame to dump it at the council tip. If nothing else it should make excellent kindling. I've also got a 1930s draw leaf solid oak table and sideboard, auction houses say it won't sell, yet looking on line Ebay and other places are asking £hundreds for the same items, makes ya wonder!

Add in local paper, Gumtree or similar?
Is the table dark or light oak?

Find somebody on facebook to post a picture of it to put on marketplace or one of the local groups.

I have used Freecycle before www.freecycle.org for a few things I didn't want and wasn't bothered about selling. Furniture that wasn't needed was collected by The British Heart Foundation and I'm sure other charities offer similar services. They don't take any old crap though. My SIL was giving some stuff to them a few weeks ago. She had a dining table and chairs that was sun damaged from being in her conservatory. They wouldn't take that.

Yes, Freecycle is a very useful resource. We've used it a number of times for both obtaining and disposing of stuff.
It's very satisfying to get some decent stuff at no cost, and also to get rid of unwanted (but perfectly serviceable) items, without having to consign them to the tip.

If you want to sell it, I'd try Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree. Make sure you include measurements, price and photograph any dents/damage clearly. Ensure you are very clear about whether it will be delivered or if it's for collection only.
For stuff you just want shot of but would like to go to a good home I can absolutely recommend your local freecycle, but you can also put free stuff on Facebook marketplace.
If you do end up taking to the dump, see if yours is like ours - the guys will put anything half decent out as free to collect. So it still could go to a good home!
