That was a treat listening to Martin Parr on Radio4 just now. Much respect for his defence of photography in general. Downloadable as a podcast too.

The album Empires and Dance by Simple Minds. What a great album.
Not listened to it for many years. Taken me right back to my youth.

I suppose it's a bit late now to comment on the 'Coronation Concert'
What a racket and what a poor offering!
You have, probably, the best pianist in the world at your disposal and use him as an accompanist to a no-mark singer. You have another caterwauling singer and dress her as the toffee from a quality street selection.
There were two good things about it. First, the synchronised drones making pictures in the sky. Second, my use of the word racket has reminded me of Basil Fawlty's reply to Sybil, " yes but it's Brahms' fourth racket"

The Damned's 'Machine Gun Etiquette'. Apparently the Damned were on TOTP this day in 1979.

Got the DVD of Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited at the Hammy O (It was called something else at the time but it'll always be the Hammy O to me)10 years old today And to keep it topical I got my Nikon F2.8 17-55mm DX from a friend who was also at the gig and selling it as he'd gone full frame, in the pub beforehand
