Is Ricoh just sitting on their bum or will they eventually release a GR IV? The III is getting a bit long in the tooth and surely they can do something to improve sealing. Maybe the company is struggling and can't invest in R&D like they used to, don't know, but the lack of progress in that line is starting to turn me off. If y'all have any inside poop on their intentions with the GR line please share.

The current model is still very good with its unique characteristics but the performance needs a wee boost and a lot of folk want that weather sealing.

In a recent video on their (Ricoh's dedicated GR channel) YouTube, in an interview with a designer they basically confirmed (wink wink can't tell you anything right now but something's coming) the next iteration is on its way. Autumn maybe?

Autumn maybe? That’s good news. I’m never going to buy another camera but if I do I’ll buy a GR I’ve admired from afar like a lusting school boy 👦🏽

It feels great in the hand, is the perfect size, and the image quality is fab.

I hardly use a camera nowadays my DSLR kit is unworkable in my hands anymore and on the few good days I get the TZ80 hits the spot I use it on auto and with wireless transfer to my iPad I’m set.

Interesting, they've just announced 'HDF' versions of both GRs. Key difference is a built in highlight dispersion filter. If the IV was close surely it would have made more sense to just include on the new models. Or perhaps it's a testing of the waters, see if there is demand for the feature, and the IV can be made without in first instance if not something people go for? Who knows... Ricoh moves in mysterious ways.
