They never seem to sleep. All they do is eat and procreate. At least you can often squeeze two at a time.

Sorry to be so late to the party. Martin I think that your Emeralds are actually Calopteryx splendens.
Now sorry to be even later. I think that your common blue (final image) are also Azure. You can clearly see the Coenagrion spur on the thorax. Common Blue are not Coenagrion and therefore don't have the spur.
Very nice pictures though.
