Egret? Or Heron? Egrets are more common in Cyprus, but this bird has a grey back.

An over-processed "shorty"
It is nearly the time of year to get good shots of these on the Wirral at Parkgate. When the spring tides ( need to be > 10 m) flood the marshes the water drives all the mammals landward and the raptors, herons and sea-birds all come in for the feast.
