I was pleased to welcome a new member to the photography club that I run once a month in town. Can't remember how the conversation came round to it but about an hour in he piped up " Oh, you've reminded me that I once met a woman on a train, she was from Cardross and studying at the art school in Glasgow. Her project was all about the rubbish that washed up on the shore but the crucial point was that she was photographing it with a particular aesthetic in mind..." Well that would be me then!

Helping Mum clear out attic - talk about digging up the past! Came across a computer processor attached to the heat sink. Tiny thing - it turned out to be a 486DX 66 from the early 90s, found some older stuff that I thought had disappeared forever as well!

Doubt they are particularly valuable but I think that's the processor folk want for retro DOS gaming PCs these days. There's no substitute for original hardware....some old CRT TVs and monitors are becoming surprisingly expensive because of the retro gaming boom, for example. Check the attic and ebay.

I left it to my Mum to dispose of, and never thought that the processors may be useful to someone. Doh!

Still several times more valuable than the Pentium processors that followed it. Think one of the old Sony CRT TVs I had cost about a grand back in the day and and might be worth something like that again. Pretty sure I sold mine on gumtree for buttons when I went flatscreen for the ps3 but the best screens for earlier consoles are pretty rare now. I should have kept my old tech!
