Roasted veg and chorizo. I was only planning on veggie tonight but realised that the chorizo needed eating up so sliced it and added to the roast about 10 mins before the end.

Chipolatas and 'champagne lentils'. Washed down with a bottle of 'From a Gaelic Sea Far Far Away...' - Islay whisky cask aged Imperial Stout. Possibly a tad too heavy and rich for the meal, but I steadfastly worked my way through it!

After having no lunch, I arrived home from a hours and hours-long shift in the office to an almost empty fridge. I made myself a cheese, onion and lime pickle wrap, microwaved for thirty seconds until the plastic cheese was at thermo-nuclear temperatures and stewed in my own irriation at other family members taking no responsibility for meals around here for about half an hour. At which point my husband and youngest child turned up with a load of expensive instant dinner. Between them they heated up spinach and emmental parcels, opened a bag of rocket salad and air fried some skin-on chips. Sadly, I was full of microwaved plastic cheese and onion so I didn't particularly want any of it and my irritation at the lack of input turned to resentment at money wasted. None of it added up to a delightful dining experience.

Todays is currently gurgling away in the slow cooker, diced pork loin, diced carrot, celery, & leek, sprinkles of sage , black pepper, & garlic granules, contents of 2 chicken and leek cup-a-soup packets (flavouring and thickening) and some pork gravy granules, not yet decided between mashed spuds or boil in bag rice: any left overs will be attacked by the blender tomorrow for soup.

Tip for your next plum crumble, replace some of the flour in the crumble mix with ground almond, probably works with apple as well, I'vealso tried dessicated coconut it works in the crumble but I've not found a suitable fruit that I like under it. Another idea I've not yet tried is a savoury/vegetable crumble - probably more like a cottage pie.

We had lunch at a Lebanese restaurant, sharing a cold mezze and a mixed grill. It was very nice and we are quite full, so probably just some toast for tea.
