Posted before on AP Forum. Shattered by lightning. i forget the theme that day but I went in the local woods looking at trees and some, bearing marks of charring, were felled at ground level. I can only imagine that the trunks exploded under inward pressure of boiling sap just above the root ball. DSCF0571.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Most of my Heritage type architecture shows what is left in "good shape" rather than what has been smashed but Okehampton castle is a possible exception. Amazing that it has survived. I do have some difficulty re-imagining it as does Michael Jecks (novelist). 274A2777.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
