I have and old Porst 50mm f1.4 with the aperture stuck wide open. Normally I'd find a tutorial and attempt a repair but there's very little info on this lens let alone a servicing tutorial. I had a go anyway. The plan was to take the front element cluster out and clean the blades with some lighter fluid, should be pretty straight forward....... My heart sank when I realised I'd need to open the aperture mechanism, never tried that and didn't really fancy doing so either, anyway I ended up with 8 individual oily blades lying in front of me. They were easy to clean actually, took me 2 hours to get the blades back in only to find out I'd done it wrong and had to start again 😠It's done now though! www.flickr.com/gp/194472339@N05/aiqw12qN4K

Been there... done that... know *exactly* how it feels! Well done getting it back together, though, doesnt always happen. I've a camera in bits at the mo until I can face it again, and one of its kin spent five years in bits before I got round to it.
