Right, plan is Saturday 14th October. Time and place tba. I need to buy some film soonish as I'm down to my last roll of 120, which I plan to use (or at least load) on Sunday. If anyone would like to try one of my relics for the day, let me know and I will order some extra. Go on, you know you want to! I thought you'd settled on the place as Oxford? Joking aside, would it make sense to meet at the station/one of the few landmarks in town? I ask hypothetically, as I'm not going to attend.

You've not been to Oxford Station, have you, Zou? To describe it as a hole is uncharitable to holes.
I'm thinking about opposite Tom Tower as its relatively central, close to buses from the station, and close to some nice bits. There's also a nice hidden corner there, and it's close to a decent boozer. Apart from that, it has no merit whatsoever.

It's far enough out of town to not annoy the colleges, poorly designed, smells, and is in a particularly dingy district. Oh, and the main road past it is closed as they are digging it up. Apart from that it's great. Did I mention that to get out you have to fight your way past everyone waiting on platform 1? Great design!

Its the posh hotel in the middle where half the clientele seen to have been murdered for the benefit of Morse. Its also where a flambee got out of hand a few years ago, and burnt a hole in the roof. That was fun.

Is the meeting place easily accessible by public transport from the Talbot Inn Eynsham. Just asking for a friend.

lesleysm2, you can look for your cheap trains, this is going ahead on the Saturday (14th Oct). ETA depending on where Marylebone is relative to Bow, you might want to come in via Oxford Parkway. Buses into Oxford are still £2 each way AFAIK, and you'll be much closer to the centre and meeting point when it stops than if you go to the main station.

When we've arranged them in the past we tried to get everyone to meet at Carfax Tower. It's in the middle of Oxford and everyone knows where it is so if you can't find it it's easy to ask someone -- Sorry I'm not going to be there, recovering from knee surgery.

I was considering just down the hill from Carfax as its a bit quieter, but that's a good point.
Sorry you won't make it, Fen, once you are mobile again drop me a line and I can probably find time for a personal tour. I'll bring the Rajar collection along too.
