For many years I used Peak Imaging who were first class, but they have closed down! Can anyone recommend a lab who will process and mount 35mm slides? Or even just process the films? Any advice will be much appreciated.

There is a problem now with mounting, afaik no lab now can offer a mounting service as the sole supplier in the UK of mounts has ceased to either exist or supply, I don't know which. Presumably the same were also those who repaired the machines. So it's out with the scissors! There are a number of labs still processing E6 films, including AG of Birmingham. Films are normally either returned uncut or cut into strips of six, I would consider the latter to be the better option as an uncut film has to be rolled up, thus putting a curl on the transparencies.

Mounts themselves are not to date a problem, I picked up a lot from Ebay at a low price. Labs though are no longer mounting from films they have processed. I haven't shot any reversal film for some years, there seems little point given the very high cost of doing so, I do still occasionally use colour neg or XP2.

My one experience with Peak was in the 1980s, I never used them again. 120 films severely scratched on the non-emulsion side, I complained and they initially claimed it could only have happened in the camera, which is actually impossible. No apology or anything else, so that was that.
