But that doesn’t excuse amazons club wielding.
Yes it’s easy..swipe and forget. But at what cost? My local high street and city centre are decimated these days.
We have all paid a huge price for convenience and to save a few £££’s.

I will certainly be changing my buying habits in the future. I have already drastically cut back spending, not through necessity but because I am sick to the back teeth of lining peoples pockets. Namely the huge businesses.

The Rich are becoming profanely rich.
I maybe only one voice but I will change how I buy be it Amazon or Mike “bloody” Ashley’s stores. Instead I will withhold spending until absolutely necessary. To hell with them all.

I’ve just logged out of Amazon and deleted the app off my phone.
If I really need something I can log back in.

I like to pop over there to look at the Nikon forums occasionally, in particular the Nikon 1 forum, which I’ve found interesting and useful.  It has a reputation as one of the friendliest forums there.  Judging by some of the comments by regular posters, some of the other forums are quite bitchy.

I buy almost nothing from Amazon. They are now rarely best value anyway.

Good news as whenever I'm looking at buying another ( old ) camera , I look up the review on DPR.

I think the forum chatter might also be archived so you should still be able to do a search on a specific topic .

In the meantime I need to probably copy and paste the threads or posts I bookmarked for future reference.

A guy on DPR is starting a new forum in the same style as dpr calling it DPRevived .

As Amazon prepares to start winding down DPReview, the publication’s founder Phil Askey has publicly spoken out against the decision and put Amazon’s CEO Andy Jassy on blast, calling the choice to shut down the site a “waste.”

In my honest opinion, this is a complete disregard to contributors, editors, research teams and others, who worked behind the scenes and are now having to face with the grim reality of losing their jobs.
