Works for me in Firefox.
Note with firefox you need a language pack *and* a dictionary installed.

So in firefox, you need this enabled,
and you need a language pack and a dictionary (language pack probably optional but makes sense to install)
Then, when you're in a text box, you should be able to right-click and turn on spellchecking, change language, etc. If you don't see a Language option in the right click menu, Firefox doesn't think you have a dictionary.

There isn't a spell checker. Just activate the spell check on whichever browser you use. MS Edge, Chrome, and Firefox all have one. Sorry Martin, Spellchecker is enabled in my browser, FireFox, but doesn't seem to operate here. I guess that you are very busy so don't spend time on it. I'll somehow sort it miself.
Mick
PS Spelling of miself deliberate to see if I got a warning!
Works for me Firefox on MacBook Pro

I set up a sacrificial account using a gmail address when testing things out during set-up.

I set up a sacrificial account using a gmail address when testing things out during set-up. Sacrifice an account - a novel way to ensure the success of a forum.

Howdydoodleydoo neighbours Cheers, Jack Woohoo, that's the Pentaxian numbers boosted. I'm pretty sure Pentax is still the brand I have most cameras from, 3 DSLRs, 2 mirrorless, a few point & shoots and 5 or more film SLRs. I think mirrorless is the only one of those categories that any other manufacturer can beat Pentax (I have 3 Panasonic MFT bodies so Pentax are not far behind) Pentax is also the most recently used brand for me - assuming playing with my Toyo 5x4 without a film (refining the custom lens board for my 150mm f/1.2) doesn't count as 'used'. Pentax K is my most highly represented mount, with M42 coming second... I think I can still call my self a Pentaxian Now where was that Beer? - Ah yes I think the 'Santa's Stout' fits the bill perfectly.

Maybe getting closer! Sorry to be dumb.
In FireFox It says dictionary disabled , as below.
British English Dictionary (disabled) British English Dictionary R1.19 for Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey by David Bartlett. To enable, right-click in a multi-line text box, select "Languages", then "English / United Kingdom".
When I right click on text box as instructed I don't get the language option. Any ideas please?
Mick
PS I couldn't find how to add a screen shot to this either!!

As you were! I've made it work after a fashion. I couldn't enable the dictionary that I had already installed so I added a new one.
That seems to have done the trick

It worked with my gmail address It didn't actually reject the address but didn't seem to want to send me the activation code - even when I selected the resend option. When I changed the address to my work email the code appeared immediately, most odd...
