Boris infamously does not do detail. This looks like the work of a lawyer ghost writer. Even if Boris gets off on technicalities I don't think that the public will change their perception. i.e. "There was one rule for them and a different rule for us."

Combination of lawyers and PR bods. I bet they had some ding dong arguments along the way.

Why did he just not say, "it is not my fault that I would not recognise the truth if it bit me on the bum"?

Why did he just not say, "it is not my fault that I would not recognise the truth if it bit me on the bum"? He can't. He's physically incapable of telling the truth at this point.

Boris is not a man for details, as such he is known for being fairly loose with what others would call the truth. People (including those who would never vote for him or his party) might have more respect if he apologised with trying to dress up his excuses.

He can't. He's physically incapable of telling the truth at this point. At which point do you consider he was or will be capable of telling the truth? Before he learned to speak?

Boris seems to have a unique quality of being able to unite the left, the right, and those in the middle. He is a flamboyant liar. The late Charles Wilson (I admit to looking this up. I didn't remember the details or names), former editor of the Times sacked Boris for lying in 1988. Later he was sacked from the parliamentary front bench by Michael Howard for lying about a sordid affair with a society hostess. In that case he avoided child maintenance in very sad circumstances. In old fashioned terms he was quite a cad. Its all caught up with him. I will not be buying his memoirs.

If I was on the committee I would ask him if he misled parliament over the parties in his flat that he negotiated with the police and Sue G to turn a blind eye. Too many potential guilt traps...

He can't. He's physically incapable of telling the truth at this point. At which point do you consider he was or will be capable of telling the truth? I'm not entirely sure, in all seriousness. A long, long time ago, when he was Brussels correspondent of the Telegraph would be my best guess - once he realised that lying had positive outcomes for him, I think he adopted the idea with gusto.

I seem to remember a tv prog. which, inter alia, said he was regarded as an trustworthy chancer while at Eton.

How much is this circus show costing the tax payer? I saw some birds yesterday. They waddled when they walked, floated on water, and made a quacking noise.

You'd think that wouldn't you... Sadly there are a lot of people out there who think he has been badly treated by the media and part of the conservative party and that he should still be Prime Minister. Spent some time with relatives in the Midlands last week and several of them think he is a hero for the working people!
