we've been having a bit of a cleanout - digging out stuff for refugees, having a general tidy-up and so on in our bedroom. We decided to empty two little chest of drawers that have been largely untouched for many years. One was full of kid's art, cards, and something our daughter did in her first week of primary school. She's now in her second year of teaching at primary school...
The other had all sorts of nonsense. My belts, largely, and electric toothbrush chargers (surely we've never had that many electric toothbrushes?). And a couple of more interesting bits....
My wide's PDA from over 20 years ago, an HP Journada 720. Along with charger, stylus, case and camera. Put it on charge, and it fired up straight away.
My iPod Nano. That also fired up the moment we put it on charge.
My Walkman. Well, it's actually a Sanyo, with radio as well as a cassette player. This I've had since I was a student, found it next to the bins in the halls of residence in 1985, chucked out because the batteries had leaked. Cleaned up the terminals, and it worked fine, used it for years - well, until the iPod.
And my first memory card backup device dooberry, an X-Drive II. That's also fired up once put on charge, but I need to find the right kind of USB cable to see what's on it.
So lots and lots of memories that we've almost literally been sitting on for 20 years or so.

I was trying to get my ancient Psion going before I went up North last week. Will try again now I'm back.

I was trying to get my ancient Psion going before I went up North last week. Will try again now I'm back. Mick I've got a Psion somewhere, a Revo with a clamshell design and a pretty decent keyboard. Mono screen. Used it heavily for a few years, largely thanks to how good the keyboard was. Had a separate modem for it, which in itself explains why they didn't survive as a standalone piece of tech. Heavily influenced my direction in smartphones early on, though, I went for ones with a physical keyboard.

My Psion 5 refuses to do anything despite a new clock battery and using the mains adaptor.
