Some time ago I spotted, quite in passing, a supplier selling a nice aluminium hard case, with foam insert at a very reasonable price, and I thought "Just what I want, I'll get one when I have a bit of cash".
Well I have a bit of cash. But can I remember who the flip the supplier was? Thought it was Firstcall but it's on neither website nor paper catalogue.
Anyone else seen something like it?

I'll certainly have a look, though I don't recall looking at either. Mind you, I get reminded of lots of things I don't remember doing!

How about a used one, aluminium flight cases are usually practically given away by shops where as used Peli cases seem to keep their value.

Iāve got a peli case (a gift) but i donāt really give camera bags a hard time. The early rotalite neo 2 kits came in a proper peli case. I donāt know what they are used, The new price fell by about a half as I recall - I paid about Ā£1500. I bought a kit for my wife and remember thinking that the case must have accounted a large part of the cost.

I have a Peli alike rolling case that we bought to ship tools out to Germany for a project which I have been considering re using for my LF kit the case is 10kg before you put anything in it. I did look at a used Sinar Norma case today which was fifty quid but I left it, it was not much lighter than my Peli alike and fitted for a Norma not a F. I am kind of regretting not asking them to try a F in it, I might go back next week when I am not going between sites and have more time.

I was going to say that the only aluminium case I've ever owned was one I made myself for my first year metallurgy workshop project, but actually, I do own another - one for my Pentax 67. Never used it, it doesn't assist me in any way.
The one I made actually had a space for 4 cans of beer, one of which I drank at the end of my presentation of my project. Everything about the project was utterly crap except for that bit of showmanship TBH.

I got distracted from hard cases and started looking at large pack packs, a way of carrying cameras that I have previously dismissed. Looked at Tamrac, Tenba and a couple of others, I kept seeing mention of the LowePro 550 AW including on Large Format Forum but did not like the 'soft' nature of the back packs. Then I spotted the LowePro Whistler on their web site, it is more padded than the usual range as it is intended for skiing, climbing that sort of thing and would seem to be about to be discontinued with a good 20% discount on their website. Looking further similar discounts were available from WEX and Park, a price comparison brought up LowePro's Amazon shop which was showing 40% discount on list price. For Ā£225 from the manufacture via. Amazon, I could not resist.
Sinar F, standard bellows, bags, dark cloth, two lenses, more darkslides than I will ever need on a day out, the RFH, Minolta Spot meter, filters, cable releases all in a ruck sack

Now just you be careful, now, with these pictures of bags! I'm a bagoholic, but I haven't bought one since the Christmas before Covid. I thought I had beaten it, but...

Whoever it was I couldn't track down, so I bought one of ebay - with a fiver-off voucher it came in at a ridiculous Ā£18.99, complete with strap and foam. It looks OK, so I reckon it fell off the back of a lorry. Now I just have to plan how I'm going to lay it out - do I assume the Mamba will be on the camera, or the Baby Mamba, or the 28mm... how many folders do I need?... choices, choices!
