I came across this on the Canon website (concerning the new R50): .
Apparently, the bolded bit means:
It seems the young 'uns don't recognise our old gestures either, eg the extended thumb and little finger held to the ear for 'give me a ring'.
I'm finally starting to feel old...

As a neologism, I like that very much, perfectly descriptive.

Yeah, I have to say I rather like it too, which certainly isn't always the case for new phrases, especially when seized on by marketing droids - that sort of thing is often vomit-inducing. This one made me smile a little. Could be wind, of course.

The Band - The Incredible String Band.
The Album - The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion.
The Song - Way back in the nineteen sixties.
The Line - "Well hey you young people, I just do not know, I can't even understand you when you try to talk slow".
La plus ca change.

A propos nothing.
Come mothers and fathers throughout the land and don't criticise what you can't understand your sons and your daughters are beyond your command for the times they are a changing.
or possibly not.

I lost track at words like fab, gear and groovy I posted on Youtube the other day whilst watching the Great Guitar Giveaway, regarding left-handed guitars.
They (Crimson Guitars) came up with the idea of raffling a master-build custom job which could be either left handed or right handed, or if a guitar raffled was new, to give the option of a lefty version.
I thought both ideas were good, and replied that the master-build (drooling over a custom built by Crimson here ) was a fantastic idea.
Well, I meant to say fantastic. I was using my phone, and the keyboard is obviously tiny, and with the B being next to the N, it came out as FABtastic.
They thought I had come up with a new word. I guess it still works.
Just hope that no youngsters pick up on it and everyone blames me

I dare say our parents thought the same about us a few years ago!

The hand gesture for phone is still going strong as far as I'm aware - saw one of my students using it just recently. It's also still the sign for a phone in BSL. The one that does seem to be on its way out (thank goodenss) is that nasty sign where you pretend you're signing a cheque when you want the wait staff to bring you the bill.
