Driving home from Salisbury this afternoon my wife asked if I fancied stopping at Langford Lakes nature reserve for a Shag. Turns out there were lots of other species too. Sadly due to the recent flooding there was too much water for the waders and a lot of the waterfowl were at extreme range. Highlight was watching a Marsh Harrier hunting Lapwing, sadly too far away to photograph, but the light was great for what did come within range. The promised Shag (calm down, I know it's a Cormorant): shag2 by Martin Bone, on Flickr shag by Martin Bone, on Flickr A pair of Gadwall: gadwallpair by Martin Bone, on Flickr Mallard: mallard by Martin Bone, on Flickr mallard2 by Martin Bone, on Flickr mallard3 by Martin Bone, on Flickr Robin (I'd be interested in you thoughts as to which you prefer; facing left, facing right, or landscape?): robin2 by Martin Bone, on Flickr robin by Martin Bone, on Flickr robin3 by Martin Bone, on Flickr

Robin 3 for me too, it has space to look into while the first two options feel a bit cramped. A good set though and I really like the ripples and colour of Gadwall Pair.
