Just watched the film Banshees of Inishirin. That was strange. Barbarian on Disneyplus (Star) is very strange. It started off well but then got very weird! Also on Disneyplus (Star) is The Patient which I liked.

As usual I am watching nothing at all Earlier this year I realised in the last year I'd watched 3 Panorama interviews last year and paid about £150 for my TV licence so I cancelled it My new phone contract back in March came with basic Netflix so I thought I could use that so far I watched one documentary and one and a half episodes of one show and just have a long list of things I want to watch but never get round to same with Amazon Prime And I have a huge pile of DVD's I want to watch but just never get round to

I guessed that no one would admit to watching Harry and Meghan but I can’t resist making mention of Mr Clarkson’s comments..
I loathe that man but even by his appallingly low standards he’s gone too far.

After seeing reviews, we started to watch The Traitors on Monday on iplayer to catch up. Very addictive for trash TV. My wife said she'd eat her hat if I watched it all as it is not my thing. She will need to choose which one she'll eat, lol. Also started watching S3 of His Dark Materials on BBC1.

Trailblazers - A Rocky Mountain Road Trip. Available on iPlayer. Ruby Wax, Mel B and Emily Atack following the footsteps of an early english woman explorer of the USA. I would thouraghly recommend this. All three presenter/adventurers are very very good and every time I see Ms. Wax on tv I am reminded just how good she is. W

A documentary on Trunp. Began in his young days and ended at the point that he declared that he would run for president.
Very interesting and scary!

We're living in the Golden Age of Television - there's never been a better time for Lounge Lizards / Couch Potatoes like myself - trouble is of course we're paying through the nose for it - I don't drink and I've never smoked so I kind of justify it to myself . Anyway , programmes I recommend -
1. The English [ BBC ] - the best bit of television I saw in 2022 - cinematography , script , score ALL top notch - 9.5/10
2. The White Lotus [ S1 + S2 ] - wonderful characters in wonderful locations - 8.5/10
3. Slow Horses [ Apple TV - 6 months free trial with Sky ] - Gary Oldman is superb as Jackson Lamb the boss of ' failed ' MI5 agents at ' Slough House ' based on the novels of Mick Herron - there are 2 series thus far , superb television - Mick Jagger sings the theme song ' Strange Game ' . 9.5/10
4. Strike - been watching this excellent series since its inception back in 2017 [ I think it was ? ] .
5. Tokyo Vice - just started this so can't rate it yet ,
6. 1883 - [ Paramount via Sky ] - Western series by Taylor Sheridan [ Sicario - Hell Or High Water etc ] - beautifully filmed - follows the Dutton family who make their way West on the arduous Oregon Trail - 9/10
7. Am I Being Unreasonable [ BBC ] - Daisy May Cooper and the superb Lennie Rush as Ollie - a wonderful hidden gem of a programme which could easily be missed - I suggest you watch it - it's absolutely jaw-droppingly brilliant - 9.5/10

Will probably watch Glass Onion on Netflix. Knives Out was ok, nothing special, but it's new and should be decent. Other than that, planning a rewatch of Princess Mononoke, and the wife has mentioned Gladiator/LoTR too.

Just watched Minamata on some app called "Freevee" which seems to be showing movies for free but with ads. It stars Johnny Depp as W Eugene Smith (though I think he was possibly still channelling his inner Hunter S Thompson to some extent). Was an engaging story but I think that it deviated quite a long way from the actual reality.
I was surprised that Smith was using Minolta cameras and for the first half seems to be using a two-ring zoom lens - not sure what zooms Minolta offered in 1971.
