Thanks to Nick for the title suggestion! In the same vein as the old Relic Challenge, here's a thread for those antediluvian cameras that you dust off every few decades and slip another roll through. Please post a pic of the camera as well! Here's an oldie of mine: Ooops by gray1720, on Flickr Voigtlander Vito II by gray1720, on Flickr (actually, I think the pic was taken with my other Vito, but I found this pic first)

Thought you'd like that one, Steve!
My immediate thought at your remark was "What's an improper camera?" - self-portrait cheesecake comes to mind, was it Bunny Yeager?

Very nice indeed, Pete, and I love that mini- tripod too!

Very nice indeed, Pete, and I love that mini- tripod too! Wasn't that mini-tripod given away with AP some years back? I kept trying to convinced Damien Demolder that they ought to give Leicas away taped to the cover, but to no avail. Git.

A few months ago I ran a film through my Mum's old OM10 before I sold it (well, I do have three already!) - I'd forgotten how nice it was to use, though after Nikons the shutter did sound like somethinnng breaking and pinging past my ear!

A real oldie - this is the JB Ensign, a late 1920s-early 1930s box camera built down to a very low spec - note the odd tall design which needs no internal cone, and the wooden film rails that arev actually different widths! They were sold, but were also often given away as remium cameras, especially with the proto-Faragian Horatio Bottomley's "John Bull" magazine, with neatly matching initials. Fomapan 100, I really thought I was pushing it in the light at the mining museum, but if the other photo (the shop it came from) is owt to go by, the blur might be camera shake from my icy hands! J-B Ensign by gray1720, on Flickr JB Ensign by gray1720, on Flickr Sir Tom by gray1720, on Flickr Keswick Collectibles by gray1720, on Flickr TBH, I doubt it will get much use as the viewfinders are dimmer than a very dim thing.

Olympus XA - funny story about this over on the Coincidences thread. Anyway, I've shot a roll with it and impressions? It's small. I knew that, I have an XA2 already. It's got a really awful rangefinder patch, and it's so small it's a PITA to find the focus lever if you aren't looking at the front of the camera. I should also have done my research first before using it - as you'll see from the pics taken in bright light, you need to think about what aperture you set before you shoot, rather than winging it. It's definitely over-exposing in bright light, I should have set the aperture smaller. Ah well! You live and learn...
