Lol 😂 normally it’s the other way round colour to B&W. That’s put a big smile on my face 😊 Or the fun one where you start with a colour digital image, convert it three times to black and white (once with red filter effect, once with green, once with blue), then you stack the three images, and make a colour trichrome image. And before you ask, "because we can!"

what he said and, FWIW, I would say that 99.9% of my snaps have never been part of the "get it right in the camera" club Cheers, Jack

And before you ask, "because we can!" I've never figured out how to do this - I can create the black and white images, but once you stack them, you have three 100% opaque layers so there's no way they're going to make a colour image. Is there a blending mode or other step involved?

Like Kath I've tried this but obviously not followed the instructions correctly (me follow instructions...?)

I rarely get snaps right in camera. At the very least I have to straighten and correct verticals. It seems strange to me that I get levelling so wrong in camera yet am really irritated by the slightest 'wonkinness' in a final image. If the camera is on a tripod and I compose on the screen, not a snap but what I might pretentiously call a study, then I usually get that basic attribute correct.

It seems that family snaps should be got right in camera, or at least not distributed with additional 'features' if they are to be handed to news agencies and the media.

The only think that struck me immediately I saw the photo, was her head seemed all wrong - as if it had been imported. It looks slightly too large. Just my thoughts before the furore started.
