Ticks all my boxes spec-wise, handles well, and price was very favourable compared to either much older or lower specified rivals. Will also need to get a new larger memory card, Pentax lens adapter, and in time a larger variable ND. Might not sneak that all through this month though. |

On the digital front at least I've got space. Fuji compact is basically dead (didn't switch on with fresh batteries inserted), Olympus compact was iffy when replaced with a Nikon compact, which eventually died and was replaced by my Sony NEX-3n in 2013 which was bought primarily as a compact for travel and portability. It became my primary system and the Pentax DSLR never got another look in. But that's now on its last legs with errors most time it is switched on, so it's time for a 'proper' one at last.  |

Sneak it through?! You don't seriously believe that she won't notice? I've numerous lens adapters and filters, she'll definitely not realise if she first sees them in use. It's delivery that she'll notice! |

The last two times I bought a camera I bought my wife one too. Trouble is that we both need new cards, SDXC for her and XQD/CFexpress for me. No sneaking involved, just money.

I was once informed by a guitar teacher pal that wives never notice new/additional amps - just guitars.
By an extension of that principle the adapter probably will not be an issue.
Apparently they do tend no notice additional motorbikes too.

Joking aside she'll notice the delivery and question/comment the adapter at least but accept that it's a key part of my kit. I don't go spending £££/¥¥¥ without talking it through.
