SWMBO's divorce was finalised today so apparently we are no longer living in sin. Took me a while to work that one out.

Nice, St. Johnstone and Watford win on the same day. Not many times that happens - perhaps Christmas has come early?

Accidently bought 6 bottles of the wrong Fizz - stocking up for "the" season. £10.something a pop and, while not my favourite is perfectly OK. £10.something a pop strikes me as very cheap for organic french fizz.

Finally got the new USB-3 2TB disk up and running, filled from the old backup drive I talked about in the WGYG thread. I even took the opportunity to reorganize the directories, so some time soon I have to build new Lightroom catalogues - but I ain't lost no pictures!
It took eight hours, so now I'm going for a beer!

Just paid my council tax. Paying tax an RTBC? Surely not! Well, it was the grand some of €127.71 for the year! We may be getting screwed on electricity prices, but that is at least offset by sensible taxation elsewhere.

This: metro.co.uk/video/james-purefoy-breaks-tears-josie-gibsons-accent-2840457/?ito=vjs-linkI totally get what he's getting emotional about. Normally when you hear a West Country accent on TV it's usually for comedic effect. Even in serious drama, it's the character that's not the brightest spark that is portrayed with a West Country accent. I'd go as far to say it's borderline racist, so to hear a West Country accent used in a presenting role is quite refreshing.

I'd go as far to say it's borderline racist, so to hear a West Country accent used in a presenting role is quite refreshing. I do too. It's about a sense of belonging. Some years ago, one of my young cousins had just started nursery school and the teacher told them they could go into the little library and choose any book they liked. My cousin came back empty handed and when they asked why he had not chosen a book he said it was because he couldn't find one about a boy like him. He was right. Not many children's books featured boys with bright ginger hair. Your post reminded me of him.

No idea where this should go- starts off a bit miserable.
Had to have Pip the Pooch put to sleep yesterday due to liver cancer, he was obviously in pain and it would have been cruel to keep him going any longer. Buried him this morning. My eyes are just about dry by now, but the house seems very quiet and strange.
Now I've just had a call about a collie pup needing a home rather desperately, so a drive down the Conwy valley tomorrow to pick him up from Snowdonia Animal Rescue.

S A house doesn't feel like home without a dog. You have my sympathy and I hope the pup works out. As an aside I sometimes wonder if Samoyeds would be any use for rounding up sheep as they seem to flock towards the one I walk. Quite amusing to see. (Always a fence between them and he shows no interest in the sheep).

Did he at least make a good age? Let's hope that the 'new recruit' brings a lot of cheer with him.
