Well, I've managed twelve years so far. Looking forward to another twelve if Bonnie doesn't work me to death... S My SiL is on year six of terminal, which is simultaneously great and terrible.

My late wife had 3 bouts of cancer, 2 mastectomies a year apart then a couple of years later Lung cancer, the GP had prescribed antibiotics 3 times for "chest pains" betwen January and April, finally deided to send her for a scan, found lung cancer too far advanced for cure, We wondered why the GP didn't send her for a scan given the 2 previous cancer occurences, she was only 63. She had a hysterectomy about 12 years previously, no mention of cancer then. But after the two mastectomies and hysterectomy we used to joke that she"wasn't half the woman she was"

The MRI tomorrow is for Prostate as my PSA bloods last Wednesday were rather high. Yesterday's CT scan was for pulmonary nodules. Still waiting for more action on the cardiac front... Keep smiling it confuses the buggers...

Keep smiling it confuses the buggers... Back from the MRI, preparation took a bit longer than "normal", couldn't get a cannula in, then they had to disconnect the Pacemaker/ICD and attach a portable heart monitor (more shaving of my luxuriant chest hair), then they couldn't get the pulse oximeter to register... MRI...well it was noisy but I could detect a bit of Kraftwerk in there...apparently the ICD is working well but the pacing lady couldn't comment about the heart itself... I even had enough energy afterwards to run for the bus

I even had enough energy afterwards to run for the bus and now received an electronic appointment letter for cardiology out-patients...at last!, but that sounds rather churlish given how well everything else seems to be moving

Sorry to hear this Lesley, but hope it's 'something and nothing' so to speak. Take care of yourself.

MRI...well it was noisy but I could detect a bit of Kraftwerk in there... When Dave had an MRI afterwards the doctor asked him if he found the noises disturbing and got the reply "Nope it was like a Hawkwind concert in there"
