Returning to London tomorrow. Two quick questions for those in the know: - Recommended coffee shop between St. Andrew's Gardens and British Museum? - Same for good local place to eat in that vicinity?
I've had pretty good luck in the past with shops in London, but never have received a local's recommendation so figured I'd check with ya. Thanks.

Almost opposite the British Museum down Museum Street is the Camera Museum, which is a cafe with a museum attached - www.cameramuseum.uk/. Coffee and cakes are good, you can ogle the Rolleis for sale, the hot food selection is limited to hot sandwiches, I think, but what we've had is good. We may be in there today, so we'll miss you by 24 hours. Ah well! Seven Dials is good for little restaurants - we plan to be in a French one down there with a name I've cunningly forgotten. Ah, my Chief Rememberer tells me it's Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street, just short of Seven Dials. Have a good trip!

Hi All -- Just returned yesterday and wanted to say thanks for the recommendations. We didn't make it to Mon Plaisir, but the Camera Museum was a gem. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the recommendation was very much appreciated. Had a long talk with the owner, definitely a right guy.
