A bit of a journey for me, too...19,000Km. I'll have to visit Edinburgh's local namesake. We could visit the same streets on opposite sides of the world.

Ok, so potentially enough interest to pursue. What season would be of interest? Summer obviously very expensive what with festivals etc., and there's the old adage of 9 months of winter followed by 3 months of bad weather...

For me anytime is OK (unless I am away on holiday). Don't mind the cold and can cope with rain as I'm not made of sugar.

Time of year doesn't much matter to me either. I have an anorak and gloves.

Anymore thoughts on when this could happen? Not sure how long before the trip we need our course of vaccinations 😀 Not so much vaccinations as a course of vitamin D... I think it's more about when folk who'd travel could manage it - work around the least flexible.

Any when apart from the first two weeks of May. Then it'll just depend on whether anyone has booked that time off at work.
Set the date then those who can will, those who can't won't.

Only as part of a longer break summer or autumn.

As a five time visitor, festival time is great for photo ops, but of course even B & B rates go through the roof in August. However, with public transport being so good staying outside the city isn't a problem. City centre wise, apartment share anyone? Now is the time to book accommodation, in my opinion. The cheapest I could easily find was £350 for 4 nights in a B&B 2.3 miles from the centre. Universities also let out their dorms in this period for about the same rate,

For me anytime is OK (unless I am away on holiday). Don't mind the cold and can cope with rain as I'm not made of sugar. I was in Edinburgh last November, and it was heavy rain every day, and I do mean heavy. Apart from visiting a friend and a couple of indoor locations that was all we did , it made photography impossible.
