(sorry - you'll have to click the links as I don't seem to be able to share this guy's pics with BB code) He's tested a box of Ilford glass plates he picked up somewhere:
flic.kr/p/2qeRm1dHow about this for an image from a 70-odd year old emulsion? flic.kr/p/2qeSj6pNas is one of the random people I've bumped into in Oxford over the years - a genuinely nice bloke, and a very good portraitist. He has fewer cameras than me... and gets much better use out of them!

I have never met him but I have been following him on Flickr for years, his mix of TV on set stills and his interest in the old and obscure photographica is always worth a good look.

I've met Nas once, at a large format lens weekend. While there he had a glorious 'Dallmeyer Patent 3B' lens returned from being serviced, over 150 years old & looking like new! It's quite possible this lens is now worth more to some American collectors than I could get for all my photographic kit combined!
Everyone there was clearly far more experienced than me, yet most welcoming - quite humbling.

I noticed the other day that zou follows him too. I love his 1915 Ross Reflex he's using at the mo, what a wonderful piece of history!
