I have just bought a few rolls of re loaded / re rolled FP4 originally intended for aero recording and cine use from Analogue Cameras which is part of Second Hand Darkroom.
It is not FP4 plus and is rate at ISO 100 so I am thinking Kentmere 100? It is currently £2.99 for 36 exp, I will be using a roll or two next weekend so will let you know what I think in the near future.
They also have some attractively priced cameras and lenses, I bought Nicholas a AIs Nikon 35-105 for thirty quid, it has a little bit of internal dust but that is all I can fault it on.

My understanding is Kentmere has less silver than the Ilford variants. Not tried the 100 yet, but planning to. 400 is fine but I prefer Delta and HP5+ and they aren't a lot more.

I've just clicked through and have to say those samples are delicious, and £2.99 a roll seems like theft!

The FP4 will be in Xtol stock which I am halfway through ageing to be replenished, I am looking for a replacement emulsion for when I finally run out of Lupus APX 100.

Little update, the weather for my photowalk yesterday turned out rather dull and I discovered a just started APX100 in the Aria which needed to be finished before I started a roll of the Aero FP4. I am going to process the APX today but the FP4 is still in the camera so results from that will have to wait a while.
I did however shoot 3/4 of a roll of Fuji Superia 400 in the Halina toy xpan, loading the film I noticed for the first time that it has a curved film plane, again I will need to wait a while to see the results.

Some edits of my Ilford FP4 typ.517 cine film, processed in Xtol stock, obviously all shot in Highgate Cemetery. Highgate Cemetery 2024-07-29-0012 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Verdict? It is rather nice, stays flat in the scanner, has a Kodak PlusX ish look (?) and is very easy to edit. I only wish I could print some of the negatives in a dark room, alas I can not.

More contrast than regular FP4+, or is that from the edit?

More contrast than regular FP4+, or is that from the edit? It was scanned using a Tmax / D76 profile in Vuescan which adds a bit of contrast each end of the curve, most of them needed a half a stop extra exposure and the shadows darkening in curves. I just had a look at some of my FP4+ on Flickr, there is not much in it between the cine FP4 in Xtol and the FP4+ in DDX, perhaps better separation in the mid tones or I could be kidding myself. What ever, at three quid a roll it will do nicely.

If there's any still left when I burn through my out-of-date stash, it might wean me off Fomapan!

It is worth supporting 'Entrepreneur' DAN KERIN who has sunk a load of DOSH into buying all that Camera Gear and packs of 400ft FP4 type 517 Cine -- I have tried it in my home-made 2-bath formula and got 100 ASA out of it BUT a clip test in 510-Pyro shows it is better at only 50 ASA . I will try it in IDII and ID68 next ! Here are some first snaps on it rated 100ASA in my 1965 LEICA M2 around Brick Lane London Brick Lane 01 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr Brick Lane 03 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr Brick Lane 04 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr

I haven't ordered any of this yet as a lovely person sent me a load of in-date 35mm they weren't going to use. However I looked it up yesterday and apparently it's back in stock Monday. I might not have spare shekels for photos for a while, so I may well stock up while I can. Now, just need some 127 to reappear for those toys...

Hmm, maybe I won't just yet... someone has just sent me two more rolls of FP4+ in exchange for a lens hood I sent them, I may be OK for b&w 35mm for a while! That's a stock of 6 rolls, plus one of 120 and one dodgy 127.
Nik & Trick look to be getting my custom as they have some slow 127 in stock, assuming they also have Rodinal. If not I'll spread it about a bit.
