Just back from Curry Night at Wetherspoons, where the political debate was as incisive as might be expected. TV on but with no sound: a guy points at the screen and bellows to his mates: "Penny Mordaunt, would you or wouldn't you?"
Quite put me off my beef madras.

Something amiss with BBC reporting. It has Green on 2 seats, and reporting that as +2, when they've had one seat for years. It also has Alba on 0 saying no change, when it is in fact a drop given that they had seats from defecting SNP MPs. Strange. But hey, looks like about 2 of my predictions were accurate.

In the only good news from Scotland so far, Dross has been rejected by the electorate. No VAR required.

We continue to be plagued with LibDem paper - inundated! The other day, the Postle delivered a slew of leaflets from the Greens and other n'er do wells. Also had another from the Tory (Rishi clone) but it seemed to be a 'national one' rather than local. A LibDem gain is my prediction. Mick I was right! As long as 7 pages ago I predicted the result here.

McWitchface has managed to scrape through in my constituency. Disappointing.

When I went to bed the Beeb was forecasting 62 Lib Dem seats, we've got 71. Managed to unseat Chris Loder here in West Dorset.
And Greasy-Smog lost his seat lol.

Looking at the BBC’s “what labour will do in government” page, it looks like Business as usual. May I recommend a listen to the Eagles song Business as Usual for their view on that.
I see some welcome ideas for change but nothing on how it will be achieved.

The percentage of votes gained by Reform is worrying.

The percentage of votes gained by Reform is worrying. I try to keep positive by thinking that about 85% of them usually vote Tory, so it doesn't necessarily represent a major shift.

Well I'm still lumbered with a tory MP albeit it's no longer a safe seat, and would now be classed as marginal. Ordinarily I'd see this as a positive, but despite Labour making a slight gain, its mainly down to the 8,000 people who voted Deform UK.

I think you can see the Reform vote as a protest, from Conservative voters who won't support Labour or the Lib dems. Expect them to go back to the Tories in the next election - with only 4 seats, Reform can do nothing but make noise, especially with such a large Labour majority.
