These are fascinating - do keep sharing! Thank you. Been keeping an eye on the last one to see what happens and it went pink then brown then black. After some more digging around on the internet Brefeldia maxima (AKA tapioca slime mould) seems like the most likely for this one. Apparently one of the biggest species of slime mould and certainly a rather impressive size for a single cell amoeba. Found a short but interesting video on this one...

Never got a chance to return with macro gear so only got a crappy phone pic of these tiny ones... Arcyria sp.

Didymium spongiosum: Nice easy one this morning (above) as it is common and widespread so knew what I was looking at even if I hadn't found it in the woods before. The one I found this afternoon is a bit more of a mystery as an expert in the group reckons it looks like a slime mould but doesn't recognise it... ...might not be fully mature yet.
