I live in a house with lots of bits of silver - and have never photographed any of it! ...so instead, I will put up a few holiday snaps taken in the Medici Riccardi Palace in Florence showing some items of the silver collection that caught my eye. Nothing artistic, but possibly of interest. Some cabinets, with a crucifix, I believe by Donatello which would explain the bulletproof glass, set back in an alcove. A collection of trinkets. I am not sure what this was used for... ...but the detail is impressive!

Not actually a silver arrow, they were pre war but close. W196_IMG_0362 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr It kept me happy watching it go around and around on its turntable for quite some time, yes it is real and yes it does get occasional use when not resting in the technical museum in Vienna.
