Nothing to do with the thread just a gratuitous shire horse foal picture, taken last week, that I took off the camera just now. The stud farm at Cotebrook runs a visitor centre and there are walks around the paddocks. The cycling club uses the café and I always wondered what it was like inside so we took grandson, it being school holidays. DSCF7447-Enhanced-NR.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I mean, other than 'don't'? Alive or dead? Mounted or not? If any 'horsey' people annoy you whilst on this assignment, tell them that horsemeat tastes a bit like venison and works well with the red wine sauces sometimes used with venison too.

In the proposed portrait format the horse owner will surely be able to hold the horse still enough, provide treats etc., and guide on whether the horse is comfy with the distance etc. Maybe not an issue but I'd probably use silent/electronic shutter to avoid risk of the clack giving the horse a wee start. ^^^ What zou says in first two lines.
Owner feeding treats or just the prospect of treats will work as she has owned it for a long time there should be some good images of the bond they have. That is if the horse is not having a duvet day, in which case come back another day.

I say I say I say, have you ever seen an eye infirmary in the middle of a field...no but I've seen a horse piddle in the middle of the road... (Grandad told me that in 1963) And they say the old ones are the best!

Stop foaling around you two. I'm trying to work out how to make the horse look happy - he has such a long face on him. Ach, I'll take a carrot. It'll be a shoe in.

These horsey puns are just a load of fetlocks. I know, but trying to rein this lot in when they get their punny bit between the teeth is a nightmare.

The puns are the glue that holds the forum together. The trouble is they're so awful they should really be put out to pasture.
