I lost my Tamron lens cap whilst on holiday. I know I can get a third party make quite cheaply, but have been looking for a Tamron branded one to see how much they are. In my search I found this. www.clickelectronics.co.uk/product/tamron-67mm-snap-on-lens-cap-c1fe/ Shame it isn't in stock, but it probably sold out owing to the sale reduction! I'm glad I read this before posting. The spellcheck changes Tamron to Tampon, lol.

I had a giggle at the spellcheck change. Ha! I had a friend, Joan, who always got Pentax wrong. Embarrassing and giggle making (for me) when she had serious conversations with someone about her camera. Last price that shocked me was I wanted a very simple, no alarm etc time/calendar digital displat. So tired of all my radios dimming to nothing as soon as it gets light. My old mobile tells me, but I wanted something upstairs. Small time/day/date displays started at about £40 and above. Yes, I can afford it, but I'm not going to.

Yeah I have seen them for that price, but £4 ish for some cheap ones from Amazon. I'll probably go into town this week. The real camera shop or LCE may well have them in.

Decided about an hour ago that it was time to learn Dowland's Lady Hunsdon's Puffe on guitar - it is not a big piece. Boosey and Hawkes - £3.25 - fair enough - but very slow postage £4.50, express postage over £12. A bit of searching will get the music on-line.

LCE stock common lens cap sizes but I doubt they will carry severally branded ones. I picked up a blank one for my Fuji X100V - fit the weather proof kit and the nice cap that comes with the camera doesn't fit. Can't remember how much the replacement cap was, those kind of accessories tend to be high margin so they are dear for what they are.
I'm trying to stay out of LCE. They have a weekend only offer of £2500 off the GFX 100s - the stock clearance must be going slowly. They started discounting before Christmas and before the launch of the GFX 100 II which uses the same body and sensor.

Two and a half grand off, that is the sort of discount I expect when buying a car!

For the original price you would hope for carbon fibre and milled billet aluminium construction.

The replacement is rather more expensive having some faster electronics (better AF) and a vastly better viewfinder amongst other things. I'd guess the (mainly business) market has gone for the new model, leaving lots of unsold stock. I'd kinda like to play with one and was planning to look in the Fuji House of Photography next time I'm in London. I do prefer a longer focal length lens for a given field of view and the review of the GFX 30mm tilt-shift on this camera by Northlight Images makes it very tempting pairing. It all depends on how easy it is to focus with. My Canon gear isn't easy at all and I don't do much architecture these days.

Caps used to come out of rummage boxes, remember them? I usually try to hunt bits like this down on Ebay.

Lens caps and lens hoods are often sold at quite ludicrously high, rip-off prices. Why not get either a plain one or one with your camera maker's name on it from internet auction sites etc?

Use the cap the good lord intended - your actual hat - whilst standing behind a large format camera on a tripod, exposing a wet plate. Anything else is just half measures.
