I wonder, if they want to warn their peers that a patient is a complete aerosol do they just miss out the word "pleasant"?

Let's do a roll call to see who's planning on coming. The current weather forecast isn't great, but isn't truly awful either. Sadly, I'll actually be travelling to Amesbury from Cornwall that day, but otherwise engaged when I get there, so so close, but no coconut.

That should identify if there is any disk damage. If there is they can do wonders to fix it. Good that they seem to be acting quite quickly. My wife had a 2 year being messed about wait for a "simple fix" to a burst disk. Can't prove it but I understand the GP practice had blown their budget with the hospital. If I'd known the delay was due to money I'd have borrowed it. This is through my private insurance so I’d expect it to be quick! Should indeed be!

That's nasty, Martin. Funny, but nasty. I suspect Nige appreciates it for just that reason. That sounds ghastly, Nige, no cause or cure yet I take it? Certainly people taking the piss doesn’t bother me. I have an MRI booked for tomorrow for a lumbar spine scan, with the follow up consultation on 8/4 . Edit I have just received a copy of the letter sent to my GP Quote Ahh nice I reviewed this pleasant 59-year-old right handed retired police office in my clinic at his request….. Ouch On examination, he is of tall stature and had moderately raised BMI…. It's a private clinic. Are you sure they didn't mistype 'peasant'?

Sorry Martin, I am a bit sat on a fence with this one, I was going to jump on a train the second thought was come down by bike but I don't fancy getting the ZX9 out of it's winter hibernation just to ride it in the rain. I could come in the car if there is going to be a decent gathering, so far it is looking like two plus yourself?

I'm happy to go ahead with this, but given the lack of interest I won't be offended if people want to cancel it.

I suppose if they miss out the 'pleasant' it's code for 'If you send this git to me again, you're off the Christmas card list' or something similar. Spot on! Having been a medical secretary for many years "Pleasant" simply means "okay" Although I was slightly amused by one consultant who described the patient as " a flirtacious 86 year woman" I did ask him what he meant and apparently it was consultant speak for "Take care with this one" I still think the winner though was getting a referral at the children's hospice for a boy described as having "mildly challenging behaviour" when it turned out that meant: Will attempt to download hardcore porn/needs two people at all times/doors and windows must be locked in his vicinity/ he's set fire to a neighbours shed twice/he bit a teacher, several other children, his parents and a couple of police officers and if you try to stop him doing anything he will bite you as well/must not be allowed access to knives

Okay, gale force winds forecast for Saturday. Shall we knock this on the head?

Okay, gale force winds forecast for Saturday. Shall we knock this on the head? I was still on the fence but add gale force winds to the rail works tips me into the sorry I am backing out of this one.
Sorry Martin.

.... and my younger daughter is participating in a charity event on Saturday now, so I ought to go along and support her rather than going to Salisbury :-( Typical - not much happening on a Saturday for months then two things come along on the same day

Can you guess where the charity event my daughter attended was? I took this on the way back to my car in the car park:
