I am one of those rare people who have survived an out of hospital VR event without obvious brain damage. So, so tempting...

Ah yes, but did she play rugby ? How many gym bunnies and marathon runners keel over during exercise...sadly I know of a few Sadly one of Spike's fellow basketball players collapsed on the court last night, fortunately there was a first responder playing as well who was able to give CPR. The lad is stable in hospital, and they're hoping to wake him up later. Poor Spike, he gives Jack lifts to games and practice and was absolutely shocked by last night events, he didn't get in til 2 am.

I've never had to give CPR yet, thank God, but I remember being called to a colleague who was grey and clammy, looked like she was dying. Got the ambulance out to her, and once she was loaded up I literally stopped and had the shakes. I felt like she had looked for about the next half hour. Hope Jack is OK, it sounds as though he got the best care available.

fortunately there was a first responder playing as well who was able to give CPR. It should be compulsory for CPR training in the workplace or school. I've had to do it once, but sadly the guy was dead before we even started according to the postmortem (another marathon runner and serving soldier with an undiagnosed heart defect). At the end of the day, CPR done badly is better than no CPR at all.

As part of his coaching (and probably remembering what happened to me) he has had some accredited first aid training. He was the one who eventually got through to Jack's relatives and I can only imagine the difficult conversations that took place. He continues to make me so proud
