I had a nice breakfast at an Italian last week. It was scrambled egg with Nduja in it. Served on a muffin with some creme fraiche. It was very nice and as you'd expect, quite spicy. I had to look Nduja up sounds like if you hadn't tonsils removed previously you did then! If done properly I love eggs Benedict Then again I love poached eggs at the moment as I am without a job so don't have to rush out in the morning I've been having a couple on toast most mornings

To correct some misconceptions, none of my fry up is fried, why would I want a heart attack on a plate, when the ones in my chest didn't do me any favours...

Sausage (usually pork), bacon, fried egg, potato bread and soda bread. Beans are optional, but must be served in a ramekin.

Following on from Nigel's dinner post, what's on your preferred fry-up, and what's definitely not. For me it's pork sausages, back bacon (ideally rind on), fried bread, mushrooms, baked beans, tinned tomatoes, fried eggs (runny yolk), and a good splash of Lea & Perrin's or Henderson's relish, with a side of buttered toast for mopping the plate with and a mug of strong tea. I'm not fussed either way on black pudding, but there is no place for hash browns or grilled/fried tomato on my plate and the latter should be classified as a war crime. Decent sausages, smoked back bacon, fried bread, mushrooms, tinned toms, fried eggs with runny yolks - absolutely. Black pudding - yes please. Fried banana, ideally. And ketchup - Heinz or Stokes. And sometimes, a scone fried in butter. No hash browns or beans, ideally, although I wouldn't not eat them.

I was recently treated to a Full Scottish Breakfast from the cafe where my daughter works.
2 big fat juicy expensive pork sausages 2 rashers dry cured back bacon, rinds on, crispy Slow cooked herby tomatoes Haggis Black Pudding Mushrooms Poached Egg Tattie Scones Black coffee
Prior to that it would have been what was called a Builder's Breakfast from the Shepherdess Cafe on City Road in London which was minus the various Scottish elements but with the addition of a shedload of chips!

That's no fry up! A fry up MUST have fried egg!
My wife reckons I'm weird. At home I never eat breakfast - never. However, if we are away, I'm the first in the queue looking for more or less all the items you list.

Acceptable. Probably the best of what's been posted except my own, obviously.

You might be right but I can fry an egg, I'm not very adept at poaching them so whenever I eat out and there are eggs involved, I always go for poached. It's on the same vein as I almost always look for a good lamb option if we're eating out because nobody here but me likes it so I rarely cook it for myself.

a Builder's Breakfast from the Shepherdess Cafe on City Road in London I had quite a few of those when I last worked at Moorfields! Loved that place a proper old greasy spoon caff alas the last time I went past it is now called the Shepherdess Grill and seems to mostly specialize in kebabs

You have just described my perfect fry up. I wouldn’t go for Lea & Perrins but I’m eating your breakfast so I’ll put up with it 😊👍
