^ Even if you are alone? I once treated myself to a nice, new steam iron on Feb 14th Ash Wednesday this year is Valentine's Day, perhaps there will be a Papal dispensation, like the one for St Patrick's day...

Since I'm having a tooth out on the 13th, no chocolate for me.

Nothing says 'I love you' like a two speed pillar drill with a 2" chuck.

I needed more room in the garage so built a workshop at the bottom of the garden, now I need more room in that too! Neither has room for even a small milling machine & my lathe has to live under the workbench - perhaps a frame outdoors will allow me to use it without a week clearing space...

Nothing says 'I love you' like a two speed pillar drill with a 2" chuck. I've never needed a 2" chuck on my drill, but 2 speeds is far too few. IIRC my pillar drill has 5 and even that doesn't go slow enough for my hole saws...

"Machine tools, e.g. lathes, milling machines, bench saws, drills, etc" seems a bit skewed towards the hobbyist male if you don't mind my saying so! I have no such items, nor access to any, nor any desire to acquire them, nor room to put them if I should. How's your collection of crochet hooks, darning needles, embroidery yarns? (Not that I have many of those either come to think of it!)
My suggestions might include:
Tilt (or shift!) Contre jour Heat Fish and chips (!) Handbags and gladrags Rainbow of colours

I have 'proper' skewers for the job but find a knitting needle is easier to 'read'.
