I’ve just made a vow not to buy ANY photo gear throughout 2024 I could happily join you in making the resolution, but I doubt it would be kept for as long as a week! Instead I'll resolve to get rid of some - not a common occurrence but I now really need more space. Fitting out my planned 5x4 carry case before the summer (then using it more) is another resolution I can hopefully keep. An update: Three zooms donated to my favourite Charity shop (and I came away without buying anything from their extensive photographic section VERY rare). Another three are turned out to go at the weekend... I've signed up for a LF meetup in April, so should manage the using my 5x4 more too! I was right about not buying anything not lasting a week - I purchased some bungs for my 5x4 developing tank on Jan 2nd & a episcope projector (perhaps only vaguely photo related) on Jan 4th. However my purchases have dropped right off this year, with only one lens so far, no old cameras yet...

I've only bought one camera, with Christmas money, but I've bought rather a lot of leather goods.
No, you filthy sniggerers, I'm making straps for them. Particularly for Roly the Rolleiflex.

And M42, T2, adaptall2... I was careless with my old K7 & fitted a adaptall lens with a Rioch mount fitted. The mount won't come off again (the Ricoh pin is a well known issue). The K7 is now adaptall only - at least that's not as limiting as a fixed mount lens would have been. My K5ii is currently my most used camera, used just last night for a macro session at our photo workshop Is there a big difference between the K5 and K5ii? I've never used a K5 but I heard it was a big step up from the K7 in terms of low light, The K5ii wasn't as different from the K7 as I'd expected (though definitely shows improvements).

Well I’ve been looking and besides better lowlight AF I can’t seem to find any other improvements?
But tbh I’m gonna stick with these K5’s If I decide this is the direction I’m going, the sale of some of my canon gear will cover the cost of a new K3iii plus what I’ve spent so far.

Still have my Rollei 2.8F I’d be interested to know what it costs these days to put a film through including dev and prints. Mine hasn’t been used since 1997!!

Funnily enough I've just had my Canon 7D converted to 720mm infrared, as I felt the images were very noisy. At similar iso I've always thought Pentaxes handled the noise better ( having had K50/K500/K30/K3...) I've done some juggling and wheeler dealing and I might be getting a KF...might/might not! ( yes I know I want to!) I really hope you mean 720nm infrared?

I doubt I can help with that, as I'll soup mine in the sink and scan it!

Though I was flippant earlier in the thread, I sympathise. It's too easy to chase "the image". I'm settled with a 10 year old dslr, a now discontinued eos-m and a Sony bridge. Hopefully they will survive the year, and hopefully so will I. The 10 year old dslr is now 720mm ir converted, the eos m50ii still stands ( with the cheap Chinese manual focus lenses and 18-55 kit lens) I've reclaimed the Sony from Grandson (in exchange for a Panasonic fz1000). Oh and I did yield to temptation on a cheap as chips Pentax KF but in my defence, I've shifted a few lenses/other kit which would probably not get used. So I'm happy.

I to have a ten year old DSLR and two other cameras both of which I am unable to remember the manufacturer. The DSLR is a Canon and I can’t recall the model or the lens size l have three different lenses the sizes are all different (surprise surprise). I am sure ones an 18ml55 but the other two I’ve no idea. There’s possibly another old body in the loft but I’m pretty sure I gave it away. Strange but true
