Mine tended to be revolting good except for French, which I didn't see the point of (just wish I'd been as interested in language as I am now), and maths which I just didn't get. I was highly amused a few years ago when mum unearthed all my old reports and I discovered I'd been counted as part of the First XI in the cricket term. I was the scorer! #metoo, I got a special mention as top scorer of the year... |

One report card comment I remember, from a high school guidance teacher, went something along the lines of "Andrew has the ability to appear to be doing very little whilst accomplishing a great deal".

My dad recently moved house and discovered my school reports. My wife is taking great delight in reading them.

One year for Divinity I got "He has learnt something but not much."
Fortunately Maths and Sciences were pretty good and my reports were boring.

Mine deteriorated as the years passed, particularly in secondary school. There were some things I was no good at whatsoever, Art, where I simply could not translate what was in my head into any tangible form and RE where we just messed about as most of us had no interest.

Many years ago my parents got a letter from my youngest brothers old school it read:
"We found this stuffed behind a radiator Ronald left school 4 years ago. We wonder what excuse he gave for its non-appearance"
It was probably the single worst school report in history I am pretty sure several teachers predicted his future involved multiple crimes and a long jail term if not life within a few years of departing their hallowed institution
He ended up being a yuppie, working on the stock exchange as a futures dealer and making a lot of money

Dealing in futures is a legal way of selling stuff that you don't own. The private equity business is another way of doing the same. I am no believer in communism but do believe that capitalism needs constraining. |

Unless you're naked shorting, you need to borrow the asset to start with and you'll need to pay to borrow it, and you run the risk of the price being more expensive when the time is up - which will cost you too... |
