When it comes to photo printing to exhibition quality Canon and Epson are pretty much the only choice, and printers get expensive beyond A3+, probably better to outsource the printing.

This week's AP (Dec 5th) has a printer and print service article. Basically a statement of specs but all in one place. Only Canon and Epson home printers. Nothing bigger than A3+. I suspect anything larger is out of the reach of most people.

I've been seriously considering the Epson SC-P700, but seen a couple of dodgy reviews on the Wex website. It seems to tick all my boxes but those poor reviews have raised doubts. I've had one Epson printer, never again. A friend is on his second A3+ Epson, they absolutely gobble ink. His first just died, it was almost as though there was a factory set number of prints, they wouldn't do that, would they?

I’ve had an Sc-p800 for a few years now and no problems at all… brilliant B&W. I had the 3800 previously which again was a great printer but did have printhead problems which seems to be resolved with the p800. I did contact Eric chan prior to buying the p800 to ask if he would be doing new profile s and he said to use the old profiles as a starting point and to use the same method of advanced B&W. they work perfectly. although the larger printer is more expensive the per print cost is smaller
