I'm trying to figure ou the rectangular green blocks either side beyond the tower. I take it they are growing, but they puzzle me. Topiary I think. I have only the same framing (2011) of the tower with gardens behind and they look the same. I've got pictures of the tower from the gardens but not showing any part of them. edit: ( kate ) I found a lone picture of the tower from the gardens. The "green blocks" are trees, often several trees in a group, cropped to give a rectangular cuboid canopy. I could have cropped in closer but I think this shows it OK. IMG_0245.jpg by Pete, on Flickr peterob is correct and perfectly illustrated by the photo above. I was quite disappointed that the water gardens and fountains had been replaced with lawn when I visited. This is another from my visit in 2014.
The totem poles are about where I was expecting fountains.

Not a Ready Berk glow. _MG_0712 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Powered by cheek and mischief, and the thrill of throwing snow at dad's camera, L series lens with a filter on the front so why not. Hard to believe he is twenty one in less than two weeks.

Hidden. I remember how hard it was to see, let alone photograph, a long eared owl visitor to Burton Mere wetlands. A less than successful photo this but it was taken from relatively close by with a 500 mm lens so to the naked eye it would be even less obvious. Beats me how experienced birders can spot these - writing which reminds me of another photo - next post from me. BV9R0058.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I was reminded of this while writing my previous post. We must have had a similar theme back in May when this was uploaded to my AP specific Flickr folder so I assume that it has been shown here before. Grey Partridge revealing its whereabouts. Edit: made easier to spot with a saturation boost. BV9R1276.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
