Either this site and Flickr are both slow or our internet is playing up again. Have space - build a block of flats - seems to have been the ethic in Chester these last few years. No infrastructure to speak of. Telford's warehouse presumably does well. DSCF0787.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

A window on the sky. Someone went to a lot of trouble with their decking. Quite a few house gardens back onto the canal and the most has been made of it. The true state of the canal water can be seen in the vignette! Amazing that it will still provide a reflection if conditions are right. DSCF0792.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

What we rely on in winter, when the power connection to the mainland fails. Co-incidentally it is at Battery Point. Powered by oil, so hope it continues into the future! Power Station by Kate Ferris, on Flickr

That is a great shot, we had a half hour lightning show on Sunday night when I was in Wales, there was no thunder and no rain so it was all a bit odd. I tried taking pictures but mostly all I got was back lit clouds which was a bit disappointing, the little bit of video I shot looks more impressive than any of the photos.

I reworked an old one. The original was taken on a walk, I think aimed to get an APForum contribution, back in November 2020 but I forget what the subject was. It was hissing down, so possibly "rain". On the other hand the camera was new and I was playing with it so the AP connection could have been a coincidence. DSCF0035.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I remembered this old favourite but not where it was (on the same railway - next station along). I've reprocessed it just now so it looks a little different to how it did 20 mins ago, 274A2767.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Looks like I uploaded this 18 months ago for a theme on APForum but that much wasn't obvious until I came to update Flickr. I reworked the processing from scratch and, by comparison, I've chosen a darker implementation. It was a very wet day. I'd not noticed the flag poles sticking out of the tower before. At least that's what they probably are, I can't think of another reason to stick a pole out horizontally. Overhead tram-lines at a junction outside the Cathedral in Ghent. I tried taking pictures but mostly all I got was back lit clouds which was a bit disappointing, the little bit of video I shot looks more impressive than any of the photos. This was from a particularly dramatic storm (One of the cats kindly woke me so I didn't miss it) I had two cameras taking it in turns to do 60s exposures (handheld from the bedroom windows) about 80% of them came out black. My two favorites where both with the converted camera, the above with an IR filter fitted & a full spectrum one which turned the night to day: ultra flashgun by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr (bang goes one of mu song shots) a little known song with the lines 'the lightning striking constantly, transformed the night to day' Lightning at daytime is a waste of time IMO. When it's black the flash comes into it's own.
