Two heifers, one bull although it's irrelevant as they're beef crossbreed (Aberdeen Angus). The females will most likely be infertile anyway as mixed multiple births the females are usually 'freemartins'. Appropriate...

I quite like veal although the flavour is delicate rather than robust. It goes nicely with dry white rather than a red. I don't understand why most of our veal is exported to France. We shouldn't be sentimental. Veal is a late summer treat.

As such, it's a great place to eat veal, but the reputation was ruined long ago.

And I'd wash it down with a lovely German white wine.

I'll have nun of that, thank you very much. Was thinking a decent Riesling or Gewürztraminer.

To be serious. I should have opined - if you find a german wine in the Uk that you like then you are good to go. However, if you find a german wine that you like in germany and then find the same wine in the UK (especially at a good price) in the UK then its probably adviseable to buy a single bottle to check it out rather than snaffling a case.

I'll have nun of that, thank you very much. Was thinking a decent Riesling or Gewürztraminer. Haven't bought any since last year, so it'll be a bit more expensive now, but Lidl do a very decent Riesling for around a fiver. Sadly, the 2.5% Normandy cider has long gone...

Oh, I'd forgotten about that cider. We've had several very quaffable German whites from Lidl, particularly from their wine tour range, about £8. Never understood why people go crazy for really dry whites, not my taste at all.

I prefer a glass of three of Lyme bay mead from some off licences or Amazon

I think I'm the only customer at the Co-op for Colombard white wine. It's cheaper than chips but I like it, so buy it, though I can afford a more expensive wine. Here's the description.
Colombard is a white French wine grape variety that may be the offspring of Chenin blanc and Gouais blanc. This makes the grape the sibling of the Armagnac Meslier-Saint-François and the nearly extinct Cognac grape Balzac blanc. Wikipedia
Hope the Co-op continues to offer it. Very quaffable (too quaffable really).
