Please let me be honest. If this is the right job for you then I hope that you get it. If it isn't then its best that you don't get it. Be yourself. Be ready to pretend to think on your feet. If someone on the panel comes up with one of those nasty 'what if' questions its best to have the answers prepared. Of course a teacher has a lesson plan but if that is not appropriate for the students then you need plans B and C. One is for more advanced students and one for less advanced students. As for darkroom experience, you have it. More recent graduates may not. Darkroom printing has one similarity to swimming and riding a bike or even driving a stick shift gearbox car. You never forget. Its good that you base your plan on previous experience and base your plan on assessing the previous experience of students so that you can be flexible. Be ready for the interview heading off into directions not in the job spec. If this job is more challenging than the one you are doing, potentially more personally satisfying and when you are offered the job, Accept. I hope that the interview is fair and that you shine.

Thanks. Interview was yesterday afternoon. I think it went reasonably well. If nothing else I think I've given them something to think about. Whether they think I'm right for the job is out of my hands now and I have an existing job to crack on with in the meantime!!

The thing I remember about studying photography at Uxbridge Uni was it was fun. We had a crazy American tutor who always kept us guessing and on our toes. He never gave forewarning of what was next on the agenda, be it a life class or a 15 minute get out there and take photos of shadows, or an organised photo shoot at a location. For me, it maintained the excitement and anticipation of something new without the angst of worrying about it beforehand.
