With Tony's graceful permission, I totally nicked his idea of Contiguous Numbers as a theme for the Photo Club I run. The rules are the same as his and we're giving a prize of a pat on the back to the person who can reach the highest number in the month. I think some thought it was too tough a challenge and they'd have preferred it if the theme was 'flowers' or 'summer' but I do think some will give it a good go. I've managed to get my first five. I'm annoyed by 3 because I saw a much better three after I shot 4. I'm also annoyed with 5 because I was being rushed out of the shop and it's got a lot of unintentional camera movement as a result but maybe I'll get a few more like that and it will start to look deliberate! 230618-Contiguous Numbers -1 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 230618-Contiguous Numbers -2 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 230618-Contiguous Numbers -3 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 230618-Contiguous Numbers -4 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 230618-Contiguous Numbers -5 by Kath Polley, on Flickr

I love those, and I love that my theme has inspired others.
Will the photo club pictures be available anywhere?

I'm stuck on 131, and haven't recorded any since #130 in July 2021. Can't believe it's been nearly two years. Time to get off my arse.

Not at the moment because our FB group is a closed group but I may ask permission to share some on the Group Page as inspiration to others who might consider joining us - I'll post the link here if it becomes worth it! (to you...otherwise nothing to see at the moment.)

I am struggling to find a number 7. Of course, I haven't gone properly looking other than in my immediate environs/normal routine because I haven't had time but it's frustrating to walk past great examples of higher numbers when you're stuck on a lower one. And the chances I'll remember where I saw a great 78 when the time comes are about nil!

Years on, I'm still looking at numbers in weird places. It's amazing where you can find numbers and see them over and over again.

You may have a copy of Seven Perform a Citizen's Arrest or something...

My 7 was still in the glory days of finding numbers everywhere and not relying on house numbers That drags up a horrendous memory [ hopefully a false memory ] of trying to spot a particular number on a lamppost, signpost or some other marker on a dual-carriage way somewhere. I think it was a travel game to engage the kids on a long journey. Possibly someone spotted the needed number +1 so we came off and went back a junction or two and tried again, and ...

7 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 8 by Kath Polley, on Flickr 9 by Kath Polley, on Flickr I managed to get my 7 just by the skin of my teeth as that Merc moved on seconds after I'd snagged it. I'm now looking for number 18 and although I happen to know that one of my clients is based at Number 18, I'm not sure if I've seen numerical evidence of this so I'll have to nip out today and check. So far I've been most pleased with number 12: 12 by Kath Polley, on Flickr

I may have other books that I need to use for other numbers...assuming I ever get past the 20s of course.
