A grey heron was trying to make some kind of point to a little egret today. I messed up the pics of it landing - it flew in hard. Whatever it was they didn't see right eye to right eye over it and the egret wasn't at all bothered. Edit: adding the making the point pic - some time after the original post. Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, aka Il Duomo  The city fathers showed incredible faith in Filippo Brunelleschi, who said he could build an unsupported dome for the cathedral - without divulging how he would do it. Il Duomo had been roofless for forty years as it would have taken more wood than there was in the whole of Tuscany to build the dome in the conventional supported way. |
