I am trying to remember where I got today's theme from and failing but I think Kate is on the right track.

Are we allowed to put up pictures of people of above average girth, or is that body shaming in this uber PC world?

Very good, liking the contrasting textures as well as the contrast in the tones. Thank you. It was part of a series I did emulating Karl Blossfeldt's work.

When these two distinctly overweight felines were placed here, outside the Venetian Arsenal, Venice controlled nearly all commerce in the Mediterranean. You don't get much more 'Fat Cat' than that!

A doctor I know, a man of strong opinions, once said to me that if fat shaming caused just one person to loose weight, avoid diabetes and live longer, then it became a medical treatment and should be endorsed. I speak as someone who was once clinically obese. I dieted and lost a quarter of my bodyweight in less than three months, down to a BMI of 23. You will get no hassle from me, anyway.

Todays is a challenge with the images I have to hand - I'm sure some of the GT racing drivers I've photographed in the past would qualify (rich, overweight industrialists playing with their expensive toys) but about the best I can manage is: Canary Wharf at dusk by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr

Psychologists might be more conscious of the stress that treatment would induce, which could be counterproductive as stress causes some to eat more! However I'm no fan of PC & those images fit the subject Sharing them here is not likely to cause fat shaming anyway.

I see no reason why pictures of larger people would be an issue unless the purpose of said photo was to ridicule the subject. Of course we never know why someone is the size they are. My wife would be considered obese, but I'd wager she consumes fewer calories and takes more exercise than most on here. She does however take medication for a couple of chronic health conditions that affects her thyroid function, but there will be those who judge her without knowing the background.

She wasn't overweight, but she wasn't stick thin. Some other students decided she was on the larger side (she was a 12/14 size). She ended up with an eating disorder, so yes, some people may be shamed into losing some weight, but unfortunately for a lot of people, especially the impressionable young, fat shaming them could have dire consequences.
